Friends of Hellifield Dates

Friends of Hellifield (PTA) News and Diary Dates.

Hope everyone had a great break over half term.  Lots to do and only seven weeks to do them in. Where has the year gone?

Friends Meeting is next Monday 12th June at 3.45pm straight after school in the library. Childcare will be available for those children not involved in Mrs Wright’s coding club.

Father’s Day Secret Room is being organised for the afternoons of Thursday 15th and Friday 16th June.  We could really do with some extra people to help the children with their creations. Please let Tracey (Mark’s mum), Alison (Faith’s mum) or Jane (Jonty’s mum) know if you can help for an hour or more.   Cost will be £2 per present. All money must be in school in a labelled envelope or bag by Thursday at the latest.

Summer Garden Party/Sort Out. Saturday 24th June 11am-4pm.

After the success of the Spring Tidy up we are organising another Saturday afternoon of working and playing in the school grounds to make it a more useful/environmentally friendly space. There will be activities and jobs suitable for all ages and abilities. Please put the date in your diary and join us for a fun afternoon even if you just drop in for an hour for a brew and a bacon butty.

Note: Joanne, our excellent school cook, is already using fresh herbs from plants donated by Twinlocks Garden Centre in the school meals and is looking forward to using fresh salad ingredients and vegetables in the future.

Bags2School bags are now available in school. You have plenty of time to have a sort out.  Collection date Wednesday 6th July (9am).  Please do not bring your bags into the school before the collection date due to limited space. Please spread the news anyone who has clean old clothes, paired shoes etc. that are cluttering up their space. We get money per kg so the more the merrier.

Hellifield Community Facebook alongside our usual channels of communication in school, text, email, paper letters. The Friends have started to use the Hellifield Community Facebook site (which is a useful site in its own right) to advertise events and news about school. If you are not a member already it is worth having a look to see what is happening in your local community.

Many thanks for your continuing support.
