Class Three

Welcome to Class Three!

There are 21 children in Class 3, mixed Year 5 & 6. The class is taught by Miss Brewster and supported by Ms Rawsthorne and Mrs Dugdale.

The children are encouraged to have high expectations of their work and the ability to be excellent role models for the rest of the school. They enjoy a wide range of responsibilities.

The teachers deliver an exciting, challenging and fun curriculum which promotes enjoyment and a commitment to learning. This provides a sound basis for their future education at secondary level.

We follow the National Curriculum for all subjects, using a cross curricular approach where possible.

Y6 are also building on previous knowledge in order to prepare for their SATS assessments in May.

Our Programme of Study

This is a very brief overview of Class 3’s curriculum for the year. Always keen to make the most of opportunities available to us we also hope to benefit from a range of other curricular topics related to the time of year and what’s in the news as well as opportunities that present themselves to us as the year goes on. We will also be working on link activities with local schools and a school in France.

We try wherever possible to link our work in art, DT and music to our topic work, and also to bring our literacy and numeracy skills into our other subjects wherever possible.
